PADI Advanced Open Water course in Nusa Penida

The second level of PADI training is the Advanced Open Water Diver (Aow). The course takes place over a minimum of two days in Nusa Penida. The PADI Advanced OW training consists of 5 Adventure Dives, where you will learn about new diving techniques, environments and knowledge.

The Advanced OW is much more fun because you will improve your skills with practice and theory that is much less redundant than the Open Water course. To obtain your certification you must complete the following core adventures dives: Deep and Underwater Navigation, followed by 3 elective adventure dives based on your interest.

The aim of the Advanced Open Water course is to give you an experience in underwater navigation and deep diving as well as an introduction to other types of dives in order to orient you towards the specialty. It also serves to give you greater confidence and self-control, making you a safer and more knowledgeable diver. 

The PADI Advanced Open Water course normally runs over two days, including 5 training dives in Nusa Penida.

• Depending on your PADI Adventure dive choices, we will do two dives on one day and three dives on the other day.
• Depending on your experience, we will advise you about certain Adventure dives in addition to the two core dives (deep and underwater navigation). For those divers with a few logged dives, we strongly recommend the Peak Performance buoyancy adventure dive first as it will enable you to better enjoy your other dives. We usually do the deep dive on the second day, as the first dive of the day.
• You will need to read "Thinking like a Diver" and  the corresponding chapter of your adventure dive choices, and complete the knowledge review. Your instructor will be sure to correct you and help answer any questions that you may have. You also have the option of receiving your manual online, and via eLearning complete the theory part in advance from the comfort of your home.

Before each dive your instructor will give you a detailed dive briefing specific to the Adventure dive.

• PADI Open Water certification or equivalent from another training organization.
• At least 12 years old for the Junior Advanced OW or 15 years for the Advanced Open Water.
• Confident swimmer
• Complete the PADI medical questionnaire and not have any contraindication to participate in scuba diving.
